I'm Ian — the dad of 5 humans and 3 dogs who loves a good cup of coffee and an even better book. Follower of Jesus. Major nerd. Stationery lover. Writer. Fitness enthusiast. Tech geek. Camping junkie. Knoxville, TN is home. This is where I share what I am reading and learning, as I go.

I write about my whatever interests me at the moment. That includes book reviews, thoughts on writing and creativity, software development and AI, theology, philosophy, self-development, mental health and anything else I feel is worth sharing.

I'm intentionally off social media, though I do have a LinkedIn profile, that I don't check often. This site is my primary presence on the internet. If something I've written is useful or interesting to you, feel free to reach out or subscribe via the RSS feed or newsletter.

Typography is Martian Mono for everything and GoMono Nerd Font for code blocks.

Color Themes

Paper and Ink are the default themes, inspired by the joy of reading and writing. They are my core brand colors, because I appreciate how easy on the eyes they are.

Middle Earth, Moria, Godric, Rowena, Salazar, and Helga themes are all also custom built for this website and inspired by some of my favorite books.

The others are inspired by excellent terminal themes from Catppuccin, Nord, Flexoki and Tokyo Night.
